Larry Bird’s Son Arrested: Conner Bird Reportedly Tried To Hit Girlfriend With Car

Larry Bird’s son Conner was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly tried to his former girlfriend with his car.

NBC reports that Conner was arrested on the campus of Indiana University after having an altercation with his former girlfriend. Bird was charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, and battery with injury. Police also allegedly found marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia on Bird at the time of his arrest.

The woman, who was not named in the report, told campus police that she had gotten into an argument with Bird at his apartment. During the argument, Bird allegedly threw his cellphone at her and hit her in the wrist.

The couple eventually made up and went to the stadium that night for the game. They got into another argument, however, and the woman decided to get out of the car and walk home. But Bird apparently wasn’t ready to let her go. Larry Bird’s son allegedly started to follow her and attempted to hit her with his car.

TMZ reports that the woman was able to find safety in another car on the IU campus and was eventually able to flag down a cop. Campus police were able to quickly locate Bird and arrested him for intimidation and battery.

Bird’s attorney John Tompkins said: “It is a private matter we are hoping to resolve as quickly as possible … We are happy no one was seriously hurt.”

Bird has been in trouble with the law before. According to NBC, the NBA legend’s son was arrested in 2011 for underage drinking and disorderly conduct.
