27-Inch iMacs See Delays Mount, Christmas Orders May Not Arrive In Time

If you’ve been checking shipping dates for the iMac 27-inch units, you’ll notice that Apple has just pushed back expected ship dates by 2 additional weeks. The new delay comes only shortly after Apple delayed current ship dates by five to seven days.

Unfortunately at this time there’s no official reason for the delay from Apple or any of their resellers.

Unfortunately for Apple the shipping snafu could hurt holiday sales as many units will no longer arrive in time for Christmas. Recently Dell has also suffered ordering issues as parts needed for their configurable units have been delayed by suppliers.

There’s a good chance investors could see quarterly results hurt by the delays, although at this time it’s still to early to tell what effect delays will have on system orders as many users order computers well before the two week Christmas mark to ensure delivery before December 25th.
