Sean Combs New Tattoo: Rapper Pays Tribute To New York [Photo]

Sean “Diddy” Combs really loves New York.

He loves it so much he got a tattoo of it on his left forearm, using the font of New York Magazine. The 43-year-old Harlemite posted a picture of the tattoo on Instagram Friday, and New York Magazine retweeted it, adding, “We’re flattered.”

According to the Daily Mail, Combs, who started his own clothing line Sean John in 1998, held the first ever Instagram fashion show Friday.

“In honor of New York Fashion Week we wanted to do something that has never been done before,” he said. “With Instagram technology we are bringing Sean John to the social media runway where our consumer lives.”

Combs’ loyalty to his home state and city runs deeper than getting it tattooed. In October 2011, Combs saved the Boys & Girls Club of Harlem from being shut down due to state budget cuts and a lack of personal donations. The rapper made a “sizable donation” that kept the doors of the club open.

However, the owner of Bad Boy Entertainment once lived up to his company’s name. In 1999, he was involved in a nightclub shooting in which a bystander suffered severe facial injuries. Combs, fellow rapper Jamal “Shyne” Barrow, and the nightclub were sued by Natania Reuben, the woman who got shot. Combs was cleared of all charges but, in September 2012, agreed to pay $850,000 to settle the civil lawsuit. The total lawsuit was $1.8 million.

In 2004, Combs settled a lawsuit with his former driver, who claimed he developed PTSD because Combs forced him to flee from the police after the nightclub shooting.
