David Hasselhoff’s Daughter Hayley Charged With DUI

David Hasselhoff’s daughter, Hayley, was charged with DUI and speeding Friday.

The 20-year-old actress could face up to six months in jail if convicted, according to RadarOnline.

Hasselhoff was formally charged on January 3 following an incident in which she was pulled over by Los Angeles police just after Christmas.

A source told Radar that Hasselhoff was planning to fight the charges against her.

Alcohol problems apparently run in the family. Hasselhoff’s mother, Pamela Bach, was arrested twice for DUI, once in 2009 and again in 2010. Bach was sentenced to 90 days in jail and was ordered to wear an ankle bracelet for six months.

In 2007, David Hasselhoff was captured on video drunkenly eating a cheeseburger in Las Vegas hotel room. The incident was captured by his other daughter, Taylor Ann, who begged her father to stop drinking. The video quickly went viral. Two years later, he was rushed to Cedars-Sinai hospital with alcohol poisoning. Hayley, who was 16 at the time, found her father unconscious on the floor and called Bach, who drove him to the hospital.

Hayley Hasselhoff starred in the the short-lived ABC Family seriesHuge, which was based on a young adult novel of the same name by Sasha Paley. The show focused on eight teens sent to a summer weight loss camp called Camp Victory. Hasselhoff’s character, Amber, weighed the least of the group but was still determined to lose weight. The series premiered on June 28, 2010 and ended on August 30 after only 10 episodes.

UPDATE: February 2, 7:30 pm

In a statement to ET Online, Hayley Hasselhoff said that reports that she was arrested for DUI and speeding were untrue.

“The story that broke this week is absolutely false,” she said. “I did not get a DUI, nor did I get arrested.”

Hasselfhoff added, “Unfortunately, this is not the first time my family and I have been falsely accused in the media. However, since drinking and driving is not a matter I take lightly, I wanted to speak up for the sake of my family, friends and supporters.”

A representative for Hasselhoff said that the actress was pulled over for speeding and got a speeding ticket, but was not arrested or charged with a DUI.
