Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been greeted by thousands of royal fans throughout their current tour, but there is one young girl who has stood out from the rest. As the couple made their rounds in New Zealand on Tuesday, the former Suits star got to meet one of her Instagram followers face to face for the first time.
The Duchess of Sussex used to have quite an active Instagram account before she married into the royal family. It has since been deactivated, but not forgotten. According to ET, there was one particular young lady who Meghan Markle used to chat with via direct messaging. She was Hannah Sergel’s biggest cheerleader by encouraging her to do good at the university and to just be herself.
Hannah was there in the huge crowd that awaited the former actress and her prince. Not wanting to be missed, Hannah created a sign that simply said, “I’m Hannah from Instagram” and was holding it as she braved the cold weather in Auckland. She also carried a letter to the duchess with her in case she was able to give it to her personally.
Hannah’s Twitter messages before she actually met Meghan Markle in person was that of excitement and nervousness. The actual meeting between the two girls was captured on camera. The expectant royal instantly knew who Hannah was when she read the sign and excitedly approached her tearful friend with a hug. She quickly thanked the young girl for getting in touch with her. Markle walked away with the letter in her hand that she promised to read when she got the chance, while Sergel left with a fond memory that will last a lifetime.

Hannah admitted on social media that she was such a mess that Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern came over to comfort her. She, along with Auckland Mayor Phil Goff, did the walk around with the duke and duchess as well.
Meghan Markle wore a Brandon Maxwell dress under a blush-colored Burberry trench coat with matching heels. She had her hair up into a tight bun. She was seen cradling her small baby bump several times as she walked hand-in-hand with Prince Harry. The royal couple has braved the wet weather off and on throughout their tour, but that hasn’t stopped them from enjoying getting to meet many of their fans in the last 16 days.
