Poore Brothers Killed Four In Tulsa

Tulsa, Oklahoma – Two brothers have been arrested in a quadruple killing in Tulsa. Cedric Poore, 39, and James Poore, 32, lived in the same run-down apartment complex where they are believed to have shot four women to death in early January.

Police arrested the Poore brothers on suspicion of murder, but have not publicly released a motive. The brothers lived at the Fairmont Terrace apartments, where 33-year-old Misty Nunley, 55-year-old Julie Jackson, and 23-year-old twin sisters Rebeika Powell and Kayetie Melchor were discovered dead by police on January 7.

Investigators have refused to explain how the Poore brothers and the women knew each other or how they knew. A medical examination suggests all four women were shot in the head.

A three-year-old boy was found in the apartment unharmed, and has been taken into protective custody.

Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan said Wednesday that the men would be formally charged after the case is presented to prosecutors. Jail records show the Poore brothers have no lawyers. According to ABC News, Chief Jordan commented:

“These were horrific and tragic homicides. It’s been a very long and very strenuous investigation.”

Cheryl Nunley, Misty Nunley’s mother, wept aloud upon discovering the news. Misty would have been 34 on Wednesday. According to the Huffington Post, Cheryl told the press:

“I’ve been praying I’d get good news, and this probably is the best news I could have gotten. It’s just been so hard with her not here today. But knowing that they caught these men is a tremendous load off my mind.”

Cedric Poore had been in the Tulsa jail since January 22 on multiple traffic violations, according to jail records. James Poore was arrested Wednesday.

Despite being a gated community, Tulsa police said there were two killings at the complex last year, and crime there is commonplace.

How do you think the Poore brothers in Tulsa knew the four women they supposedly killed?
