Meghan Markle Has A Special Gift Ready For The Royal Baby

Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are expecting their first child together, with the newest royal baby due sometime in the spring of 2019, as reported by the Inquisitr.

Speculation surrounding the couple and an imminent arrival have been rife almost since the day after they tied the knot on May 19, and the official announcement finally came from Kensington Palace this morning via social media and on the royals’ website.

According to ET Online, the duchess has been preparing for the arrival of a little one in her life for years already with a special keepsake.

Back in 2015, before she had even met Prince Harry, the then-actress spoke in an interview with Hello! Magazine about a piece of jewelry she had bought that she intended to one day give to her daughter.

The duchess shared that she had always wanted a Cartier French Tank watch to add to her personal collection, and that when she discovered that the hit legal drama Suits, on which she was one of the stars until the beginning of this year, was being renewed for a third season, she decided to splurge on the piece.

“I totally splurged and bought the two-tone version. I had it engraved on the back, ‘To M.M. From M.M.’ and I plan to give it to my daughter one day. That’s what makes pieces special, the connection you have to them.”

Meghan hasn’t been keeping the watch in a drawer, either. She has on occasion been photographed wearing the item, including on the red carpet at the Cantor Fitzgerald And BGC Partners Annual Charity Day in September 2013.

The inscription might just give royal fans a hint as to the royal baby’s name come spring. Traditionally, royal couples do not share the sex of the baby until after the birth, and names are only shared a few days later, but Meghan has already shared the watch’s inscription: “To M.M. from M.M.” Would she stay true to that decision from bygone years?

In the meantime, Prince Harry and Meghan have arrived safely in Sydney, Australia, as they get ready to start their 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga on Tuesday local time, as per the Inquisitr. Their tour coincides with the Invictus Games taking place in Sydney this month, and the couple will also be focusing on conservation and youth programs during their trip. They have a whopping 76 engagements to carry out during their short tour.
