Walmart Drunk Driver: Transient Timothy Carr Takes A Cruise

COMMENTARY | Timothy Carr, 48, was arrested as a drunk driver in a Walmart Sunday night. Of course, it wasn’t a car he was driving; it was a motorized shopping cart.

Yes, this happened in Walmart. Chalk another one up for odd things you can find people doing in Walmart.

Timothy Carr, a transient, was spotted around 9 pm Sunday drunk and behind the wheel of a motorized shopping cart, knocking items off the shelves. According to WPTV, Carr had apparently taken an alcoholic beverage off the shelf inside a Walmart store in Florida and was drinking it while driving the cart. He wasn’t driving a car; it was Carr driving.

According to the Huffington Post, Timothy Carr told police he was homeless and did not have money to pay for the alcohol. Florida police arrested Carr on charges of disorderly intoxication and shoplifting. Because the shoplifting charge had been a repeat offense, twice previously, this arrest was a felony.

Walmart’s prices may always be low, but Timothy Carr misunderstood how low they really were. Low prices are not the same as being free.

Timothy Carr isn’t the first to be accused of driving drunk in an unusual vehicle. In May, Joe Bruss pleaded guilty to driving a Zamboni drunk. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Bruss was intoxicated while cleaning the ice in Minnesota for pee-wee hockey players.

In 2009, in another report by The Inquisitr, Kile Wygle had crashed a motorized bar stool powered by a deconstructed lawn mower while drunk.

Getting arrested driving drunk on odd vehicles doesn’t happen very often, but it’s always interesting when it does, especially in Walmart.
