Man Arrested For Shooting Noisy Neighbors

A Texas man was arrested for allegedly shooting his noisy neighbors. The double homicide is currently under investigation by the Dallas Police Department.

Witnesses speculate that the shooting was related to an ongoing dispute between the neighbors. The shooter, identified as a “Vietnamese man,” had made numerous complaints about the noise coming from the neighbors in the apartment directly over his. The noise reportedly was created by children and dogs belonging to the couple that was shot.

As reported by Dallas News, several neighbors witnessed the shooting:

“Witnesses say he shot the woman in her front door, then chased a man downstairs and shot him. Witnesses say the man was her boyfriend, and that they had five children — four elementary-school-aged, another born just days after Christmas.”

Neighbors relate that although there has been an ongoing dispute, the shooter never displayed any violent behavior. One of the neighbors explained that he trusted the “Vietnamese man” enough to babysit his young children.

Last year another Texas man was arrested for shooting his noisy neighbors. As reported by ABC, Raul Rodriguez was convicted of the murder of Kelly Danaher. Rodriguez defended his actions by citing a Texas law called the “Castle Doctrine.”

The law provides residents the right to protect themselves in their homes, using deadly force. The defense did not hold up for Rodriguez who was eventually convicted of the murder of his noisy neighbor. The neighbor was reportedly hosting a birthday party and playing loud music.

Police in Dallas have issued a statement concerning the “Vietnamese man” who was arrested for shooting his noisy neighbors. As relayed by Dallas News:

“Earlier this morning there was a double homicide in the 6100 Block of Abram’s Road. The suspect is in custody and being investigated by Homicide Detectives. This is very early in the investigation but it appears this may be the tragic result of a neighbor dispute. There is no threat to the general public from this event. Further updates will be provided as they become available.”

The names of the shooter and the victims have not been released.
