Adele Buys Mom A Million Dollar Apartment

Adele has purchased a million dollar apartment for her mother.

Penny Adkins raised Adele all by herself in a cramped apartment above a store in North London, and worked two jobs while she pushed her daughter to follow her dreams and ultimately go on to become one of the wealthiest and most famous recording artists in the world, reports the UK’s Mirror.

As a thank you to her mother for helping her pursue her singing dream, Adele has purchased Adkins a £600,000 luxury apartment (approximately $950,000 US dollars).

Though Adele and her 44-year-old mother are still close, the British crooner is estranged from her 49-year-old father, Mark Evans. For his part, Evans has admitted in the past to being a “rotten father.” He briefly reunited with Adele, but nothing came of it, as she will not return his phone calls.

The 24-year-old Skyfall singer gave birth to her own son in October, and her net worth is estimated to be around £10 million. Public land records show that Adele transferred ownership of the Notting Hill property to mother Adkins. Adele also rents property in Beverly Hills, California, and owns homes in North London, Brighton and South West London. MSN reports that Adele’s real estate is reportedly worth more than $15 million.
