Heather Locklear Breaks Silence With Stunning Instagram Statement

Heather Locklear has broken her silence on social media with a stunning statement about her sobriety.

She shared an honest message with her followers on Instagram on September 19.

“Addiction is ferocious and will try to take you down,” she penned on the social media site.

“Recovery is the best revenge. Be kind to everyone you meet, your light just might change their path.”

She also sent her condolences to someone named Josh adding, “You touched my [heart].”

Locklear returned to regular posting on Instagram in August, but this is the first time she has directly addressed her issues.

Fans were supportive in their comments for the photo.

“Heather you are strong heroic brave and courageous, and such a fresh breath of air for talking a stand openly talking about life’s real issues and at times becoming a difficult journey,” stated one Instagram follower of the actress.

Another noted, “Your words are sooo true. I survived the same and loving life. I hope you’ve found the same now, Heather!!”

Still another remarked, “Stay the course and keep on keeping on…you got this!!”

The 56-year-old actress, who rose to fame on television hits Dynasty, TJ Hooker, and Melrose Place, was arrested in February 2018 after a domestic dispute with boyfriend, Chris Heisser.

In June, Locklear was taken into custody for allegedly attacking a police officer and an EMT who had responded to a disturbance call at her residence.

First responders made a call to Locklear’s home after a call came in from the sheriff’s office for a “suicidal” person who was “violent,” according to an incident report from the Ventura County Fire Department that was obtained by People Magazine.

Just hours after her release, the actress was hospitalized for a possible overdose.

In August, Locklear posted to Instagram for the first time since April. Sharing a photo of her dog wearing sunglasses, Locklear wrote, “Sun shining day.” She has since shared several other adorable photos of her tiny white pup.

Locklear shares one daughter, Ava, with her ex-husband, former Bon Jovi member Richie Sambora.

Sambora noted that he will remain supportive of his ex-wife, whom he married in 1994 and divorced in 2007.

“I will of course always be there for Heather and especially Ava,” Sambora told The Daily Mail of his strong feelings of love and respect for his ex and their daughter. “I am very proud of my daughter for her composure and strength during this difficult time.”
