Chrissy Teigen Reveals That Everyone Has Been Pronouncing Her Name Wrong

Apparently, everyone has been pronouncing Chrissy Teigen’s name wrong all these years. The outspoken model took to her Twitter account last night to let everyone know that both fans and the media have been saying her name wrong all these years. Last night, Teigen went on somewhat of a Twitter spree, letting fans know that they’re simply not pronouncing her name correctly.
It all started when one fan tweeted, “well we pronounce @chrissyteigen’s name wrong all the time.”
“Word! gave up a long time ago. last name is tie-gen not tee-gen,” she replied.
Teigen’s tweet earned her lot of attention with over 996 comments, over 3,000 retweets and 28,000 favorites. Many fans commented because they just couldn’t believe that they didn’t know the actual way to pronounce Chrissy’s name while countless others told Chrissy that they know exactly how she feels because their name is also mispronounced.
“As someone who also gets his name mispronounced all the time, this is beyond me.”
“WHAT? OMG @chrissyteigen WE ARE ALL SO SORRY,” another fan wrote.
“I reread this tweet and still pronounced it Tee-gen in my head,” one more commented.
One fan also pointed out that even Chrissy pronounces her name “tee-gen” to which she replied back, saying that she basically just gave up.
“I know. I even correct people when they say it correctly. it’s all v effed up,” the model wrote.

John Legend’s wife then explained that she usually doesn’t correct people, which is part of the reason why some people have it all wrong.
“I don’t correct people, ever. They can call me Janet and I won’t. Wrong order? I’ll eat it. Taxi going to the wrong airport? I’ll change my flight.”
But then, she backtracked a bit.
“I don’t correct people but I do I don’t know im so tired please let me go,” she tweeted.
Additionally, Teigen posted a video to correct her fans. In the video that was posted to her Twitter account, Teigen sits on her couch in pajamas and looks comfy as can be. She tells fans that she is tired of living this lie before telling her followers the right way to pronounce her name.
Soon after, she pans the video over to her mother, who confirms that it is indeed pronounced “tie-gen.”
The mother of two’s video on Twitter also earned her a lot of attention with over 400 comments, 2,400 retweets, and 19,000 favorites. Maybe Chrissy finally cleared things up and people will now pronounce her name the correct way. Or, maybe everyone will just go back to saying tee-gen because it’s just second nature by now.
