Channing Tatum Considers Magic Mike Sequel

Channing Tatum has been talking about what could be a sequel to his sleeper hit Magic Mike.

According to Yahoo News, Channing Tatum says that he’s working on a follow-up to the male-stripper fantasia Magic Mike, and says about the director rumored to be retiring:

“If he doesn’t come back, I don’t know how we’re going to do it without our leader. I’ll try to sucker him to coming in and at least DP-ing, get him in the room, at least.”

Magic Mike was one of last year’s sleeper hits, racking up over a hundred million dollars and generally pleasant reviews. In Magic Mike, Channing Tatum plays a stripper who wants to leave behind his decadent life for a more conservative one crafting custom high-end furniture. It was based in part on its star Channing Tatum’s own life experience.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Channing Tatum has admitted a “man crush” on Jude Law, adding dimension to his work as an exotic dancer.

Channing Tatum hinted at the possibility of a sequel to Magic Mike last July:

“We’re working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger.”

Around the same time, co-star Joe Manganiello also said there was talk of a prequel.

According to Access Hollywood, Channing Tatum said:

“We are doing the Broadway version [of Magic Mike].”

Channing Tatum has said that he isn’t planning any musicals anytime soon, though:

“I don’t think anybody wants to see me sing. Give me some time to work on it and then maybe.”

On doing a follow-up film for the boys of Xquisite in Florida, Channing Tatum adds:

“Hopefully we’re gonna go to Miami and do the whole thing.”

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Channing Tatum is also planning to costar with Emma Stone in another sequel, Dumb & Dumber 2.
