2013 Super Bowl Ads: Commercials Released Online Before Big Game [Videos]
You’ll have to wait until Super Bowl Sunday to see all of the 2013 Super Bowl ads but several companies have already posted their commercials online.
Mercedes posted their car wash commercial featuring Kate Upton earlier this week. The ad drew controversy for two reasons: One, Upton never actually washes a car. And two, many people thought that it was too sexy. (It’s actually pretty mild compared to some of Kate Upton’s other videos.)
Volkswagen also got into some trouble with the release of their 2013 Super Bowl ad. VW’s “Get In. Get Happy” ad featured a white man from Minnesota talking with a thick Jamaican accent. The ad was called “verbal blackface” by some but it turns out that the people of Jamaica weren’t offended.
Jamaica’s minister of tourism and entertainment, Wykeham McNeill, said:
“I urge persons all across the globe to do exactly what the commercial portrays, which is to tap into your inner Jamaican and get happy.”
Go Daddy, Pepsi, Budweiser, Coca-Cola and Audi have all released commercials for this year’s Super Bowl. Big movies like Brad Pitt’s World War Z and Walt Disney’s The Lone Ranger have also released trailers for the Super Bowl.
