‘Sister Wives’ Stars Stun Fans With Decision To Leave Las Vegas

Sister Wives stars Kody Brown, Meri Brown, Robyn Brown, Christine Brown and Janelle Brown are packing up their supersized family and leaving the Las Vegas homes they have shared since 2011 to move to a new location. Although the Brown clan appeared happy residing together in four separate homes on a cul-de-sac not far from the Las Vegas strip, apparently they are longing for a different lifestyle.

According to a statement to People Magazine, the Brown clan is relocating to Flagstaff, Arizona.

“As much as we’ve loved making our home and memories here in Las Vegas, we are excited to embark on a new adventure in Flagstaff, Arizona!” the Brown family said in a statement to TLC on July 10, as reported by People.

“We are looking forward to cooler temperatures, the mountain air, scenic views and the slower lifestyle of Flagstaff,” they shared.

The Brown clan have a combined 18 children amongst them.

The move comes at an exciting time for the clan, which recently expanded once again, as another one of the Brown children tied the knot. In June of 2018, Aspyn Brown, the daughter of Kody and his third wife Christine, married Mitch Thompson. She follows in the footsteps of Janelle and Kody’s daughter Maddie Brown, who married Caleb Brush in June 2016 and Mykelti Brown, daughter of Christine and Kody, who married Antonio Padron on December 17, 2016.

Eagle-eyed fans might have caught on that something big was brewing for the clan recently as one of the wives shared photos from the Arizona area for the July 4 national holiday.

On Fourth of July, Janelle Brown posted a photo to Instagram from a holiday celebration with the caption, “Had the great fun of attending a small town 4th of July parade in Flagstaff, AZ. Maddie, Caleb, Axel, Savanah, Garrison and I ran away from the heat for a few days. It was so much fun. Plus the temp was in the low 80s! 30 degrees cooler than home!”

After a fan commented on the post, stating that they were surprised to learn it was cooler in Arizona then Las Vegas, Janelle responded, “I’ve heard it said recently that the secret of Arizona is that it’s a secret. We have just recently been exploring there. It’s awesome! So surprising!”

The last time the family undertook an abrupt move it was to flee their home state of Utah for Las Vegas in 2011. The family feared prosecution for their practice of polygamy. At the time, Kody Brown and his wives feared retribution for their lifestyle and worried their families would be split up. The Brown’s intent was to do whatever they could to keep their clan together, so after three days of packing up their homes, they moved to Las Vegas and lived in four rented houses until they purchased land to build four homes on their own cul-de-sac.

Catch the family’s big move on the new season of TLC’s Sister Wives, premiering in early 2019.
