NFL Player Trent Williams Hurt In Nightclub Brawl, Won’t Play In Pro Bowl

Trent Williams was scheduled to play in the Pro Bowl this year but the NFL player was hurt in a nightclub brawl this week and won’t be able to take the field.

According to Yahoo Sports, Williams received seven stitches after someone hit him in the head with a bottle. The NFL player was also reportedly tasered during the incident.

Captain Andrew Lum, Office of the Chief, Honolulu Police Department, said:

“At 1:30 am this morning, Honolulu Police Department (HPD) officers responded to a report of a large affray at a night club in central Honolulu. Three males were injured during the affray. Two were treated and released from the hospital, and the third male declined treatment. One male was arrested for Assault in the 3rd Degree and additional arrests are likely. The HPD has opened an Assault 2nd and four Assault 3rd investigations. The investigation into these offenses continue.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that it is unlikely that Williams will face charges for the nightclub brawl. Police said that more arrests will be made but Honolulu police spokeswoman Michelle Yu said that Williams was not considered a suspect.

The NFL is also seems to believe that Williams was the victim and not an aggressor. Williams is still scheduled to dress for the Pro Bowl and will receive full pay. Due to the injury, however, he will be replaced on the field by Minnesota’s Matt Kalil.
