Beyonce Super Bowl Performance Will Include Destiny’s Child Mini-Reunion

Sure, Beyonce Knowles doesn’t need Destiny’s Child anymore, but that doesn’t mean she’s opposed to getting the band back together for a Super Bowl halftime show once in a while.

Rolling Stone reports that Beyonce’s set-list for her halftime show at this year’s Super Bowl reveals an interesting detail. Though Beyonce will open the performance with a solo set, singing “Crazy in Love,” she will then be joined by former Destiny’s Child members Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland for a mini reunion.

Yes, they will absolutely perform some of their biggest hits. MSN reports that the trio are planning a medley of some of their most well-known songs, including “Bills, Bills, Bills” and “Survivor” before ending with “Nuclear,” a new track planned for the upcoming compilation Love Songs.

Beyonce will then close the halftime show by premiering a track from her next album.

Destiny’s Child has released five studio albums in a long-running on-again, off-again career dating all the way back to 1990. Beyonce’s next album is expected sometime next year, and will be her fifth release as a solo artist.

Let’s not forget that Beyonce is also in the news lately for other reasons. Namely, her appearance at President Obama’s second inauguration earlier this week, where she sang (lip-synced) the National Anthem, inciting rage all across the nation. Kind of sad that that seems to have been the only takeaway from such a historic occasion, but there you go. This is our country.

Are you a fan of Destiny’s Child? Are you looking forward to the group’s Super Bowl reunion?
