‘Elder Scrolls Online’ Gets An Action-Packed Cinematic Trailer [Video]

Zenimax Online Studios and Bethesda Softworks have unleashed an action-packed new cinematic trailer for the upcoming MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online.

The clip embedded below builds its action quite nicely, beginning with a tense showdown between man and beast inside a series of dark and creepy caves. The action soon moves to higher ground as a legion of soldiers attempt to overtake a well-guarded fortress.

Unfortunately, the Elder Scrolls Online trailer is only cinematic in nature. Players who were hoping to see the title in action will have to wait for a proper gameplay trailer. However, the six-minute trailer is still nothing short of breathtaking.

The preview essentially serves as an announcement for the upcoming beta test. Unfortunately for those anxious to dive right in, Zenimax hasn’t said when testing will begin.

According to CNET, setting aside some time to fill out the online registration for the upcoming beta is advised. Not only are you asked to answer a number of questions regarding your experience with other MMORPG, you’ll also be asked to explain why you should be one of the many chosen to participate in the beta.

The Elder Scrolls Online director Matt Firor told NBC News:

“The beta announcement means that we’re confident that external people can get into the game and start playing it and have fun, and also give us feedback about how the game is, how sticky it is, how much fun it is, how reliable it is.”

The Elder Scrolls Online is slated to arrive at some point later this year. PC and Mac users are currently the only individuals who will have access to what stands to be an amazing online experience. Although Zenimax told IGN that the game could arrive on consoles at some point in the future, no plans have been announced as of this writing.

The cinematic trailer has been included below.
