Robert Rodriguez Talks ‘Sin City 2’

Robert Rodriguez has been discussing his work on the sequel to his 2005 film Sin City, which will be entitled, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.

Rodriguez has taken several years to start production on the forthcoming movie, and he has also confirmed that Bruce Willis will reprise his role as Hartigan.

Speaking to MTV, the director gave an update on the production, stating, “The only story we’ve shot is the intro story, that’s completely done. The other ones we’ve just sort of been piecemealing, shooting as the actors become available. All three stories have a little bit of footage to be shot.”

Rodriguez also talked about Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character, proclaiming,”He plays a gambler. A very cocky gambler that comes in and tries to beat the biggest villain in Sin City at his own game. The story is called The Long Bad Night. He beats the wrong guy at a game … bad stuff happens to him”

Gordon-Levitt, who is currently at the Sundance Film Festival promoting his directorial debut, Don Jon’s Addiction, was also caught talking about his decision to star in the movie. “For me, it’s first and foremost about a filmmaker who inspires me. In the last year I have been extremely fortunate,” stated The Dark Knight Rises actor.

“I got to work with Rian Johnson and then Chris Nolan and then Steven Spielberg. The job I just took, Sin City 2, I did it because I just love Robert Rodriguez. And then after filmmakers, it’s the script. Sin City 2 is just a fun part to play.”
