Bruce Willis Returns For ‘Sin City’ Sequel

It seems Bruce Willis is going to have a very busy year. Sin City 2 co-director Robert Rodriguez has stated the actor has agreed to appear in the highly-anticipated sequel.

During an anniversary screening of his microbudget debut El Mariachi at the Sundance Film Festival, the filmmaker stated that Willis had signed on for the project. According to Cinema Blend, Rodriguez revealed little else about the actor’s involvement.

He reportedly told MTV News:

“Bruce is back, so he will be seen.”

Willis portrayed the character Hartigan in Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez’s stylish 2005 hit Sin City. Although a number of cast members have already signed on to reprise their respective roles, it was unclear if Bruce would make an appearance in the follow-up.

Coming Soon reports that Rodriguez also addressed Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s role in the upcoming sequel. The filmmaker revealed that the Dark Knight Rises co-star would be tackling a brand new character.

Rodriguez said:

“It’s a new character. He plays a gambler, a very cocky gambler, who comes in and tries to beat the biggest villain in Sin City at his own game. The story’s called ‘The Long, Bad Night.’ He beats the wrong guy in a game and bad stuff happens to him.”

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For already has a number top-tier talent on-board. In addition to Willis and Gordon-Levitt, the film will feature turns from Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Rosario Dawson, Jaimie King, Dennis Haysbert, Jamie Chung, Christopher Meloni, Juno Temple, Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta, and Josh Brolin.

Before Bruce Willis returns to the mean streets of Sin City, he will be promoting a handful of other sequels that are slated to arrive in theaters this year. Once A Good Day to Die Hard has enjoyed its run, Willis will start promoting director Dean Parisot’s Red 2.
