Target Pajama Recall Affects Kids Sleepwear, Risk Of Flammability Cited

A Target pajama recall has affected kids’ PJs, and the mass retailer has warned of a risk of burn injuries due to material flammability.

Although the Target pajama recall affects more than half a million units of the item currently in circulation, no injuries have been reported in relation to it.

The Target pajama recall affects 560,000 Circo and Xhilaration children’s two-piece pajama sets and 42,000 Circo girls’ fleece blanket sleepers and was announced after it was discovered the items do not meet federal standards of flame resistance.

According to Consumer Reports, the PJs in the Target pajama recall sold in the second half of last year and were primarily for small children and toddlers. The mag explains:

“The recalled Circo and Xhilaration two-piece pajama sets were sold at Target from August through November 2012 for $8 to $13. The cotton or cotton/fleece sets came in infant and toddler sizes 12M, 2T, 3T, 4T, and 5T, and in girls and boys sizes XS, S, M, L, and XL. There are a variety of colors and designs, including stars, dots, skulls, peace signs, cats, owls, footballs and camouflage.”
