Michael J. Fox Says Taylor Swift And His Son Probably Shouldn’t Date

Michael J. Fox and Taylor Swift may not seem like the sort of people who would have a public feud, but apparently a war of the words is starting to take shape.

The Spin City actor recently explained that he didn’t want his son to date the country music darling. According to Hollywood Life, Fox said he wouldn’t be entirely supportive of a relationship between his son and Swift.

At the Golden Globes ceremony on January 13, host Tina Fey had a bit of fun at Taylor Swift expense. At one point during the show, Fey told the songwriter to stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son. A shot of the actor in the crowd showed him laughing nervously.

Fox had this to say about the Swift at a recent book party:

“No. No. Just back off. I don’t keep up with it all. But Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career.”

According to Yahoo! News, the actor said he doesn’t believe his son and Taylor Swift would hit it off if they pursued a romantic relationship. In fact, Fox said he probably wouldn’t know the singer if she sat down at his dinner table.

Michael J. Fox explained:

“I don’t keep up with it at all. I wouldn’t even know who she was [if she sat at the dinner table]. [And then I’d hear the song], ‘Sam, You Piece of S**t.’ Oh … that was the girl you brought home!”

Taylor Swift has a history of writing songs about the people she’s previously dated. The country music star has been linked to John Mayer, Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, and One Direction member Harry Styles.
