Edward Furlong Fired From Second Movie Over Domestic Violence Arrest

Troubled actor Edward Furlong has been fired from a film he was working on as a result of his recent domestic violence arrest.

According to TMZ, the producers of Furlong’s new film, Other Plans, sent a letter to the actor’s reps and terminated their contract. The letter states:

“Edward’s criminal legal issues over the past four months have directly caused our production damages to its schedule and budget. Given Edwards current status as being in jail awaiting arraignment on two charges of criminal domestic violence, and a probation violation hearing on 2/15/13, we are no longer able to engages his services for the film as per our agreement.”

Joe Eckardt also told TMZ that the romantic comedy has already “suffered way too long waiting for [Eddie] to be clear of his legal issues … It’s time to move on now and make our film without him.”

Now that Furlong is out, sources are saying Jason Mewes will be replacing him.

As we reported Tuesday, Furlong was arrested Sunday for a “boyfriend/girlfriend disturbance.” He had previously been arrested on similar charges in October and then again in November. He pleaded not guilty to the new charges against him, and remained behind bars Wednesday. His bail was set at $30,000, and a request to have the amount lowered was denied.

A pretrial has been set for January 25.

This is the second time Furlong has been fired from a film due to legal troubles. In November, he was fired from Misled following his domestic violence arrest at LAX.
