Magic Johnson And Isiah Thomas Reconcile

Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas are friends again.

The two NBA legends haven’t been too friendly to each other over the years due to some hateful rumors that floated around at the end of Johnson’s career.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Magic believed that Isiah started to question his sexuality after he was diagnosed with HIV. Magic wasn’t too happy about the rumors that said he was gay and he apparently partially blamed Isiah.

Johnson detailed their relationship in his book When The Game Was Ours.

Johnson wrote:

“‘Isiah kept questioning people about it … I couldn’t believe that. The one guy I thought I could count on had all these doubts. It was like he kicked me in the stomach.'”

Well, it looks like all of that is under the bridge.

Johnson wrote on Twitter today:

“I had a great private convo with @iamisiahthomas. Glad we can be friends again.”

Thomas hasn’t commented on the conversation that he had with Magic but he did talk about the rumors in a Sports Illustrated article from a few years ago.

Thomas said:

“What most people don’t know is, before Magic had HIV, my brother had HIV. My brother died of HIV, AIDS, drug abuse. So I knew way more about the disease, because I was living with it in my house.”

Magic Johnson was diagnosed with HIV back in 1991. Are you surprised that it’s taken Magic and Isiah more than two decades to reconcile?
