Jennie Finch Baby: Softball Star Welcomes Third Child


Former Olympic softball star Jennie Finch has become a mother for the third time over the weekend.

According to People magazine, Finch and her husband, former MLB pitcher Casey Daigle, welcomed a beautiful a baby girl into world in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 12.

“We are so thrilled to announce the birth of our sweet baby girl,” Finch, 32, tells PEOPLE. “Thank y’all for all the sweet words and love. We are incredibly touched! Our hearts are overflowing.”

Finch then hopped on Twitter to share a picture of the newborn and reveal the baby’s name.

“Our sweet angel baby, Paisley Faye [Daigle]! She was born last night right after midnight!”

In addition to baby Paisley, the Olympian — who won gold in Athens and silver in Beijing — and her husband are also parents to sons Ace Shane, 6, and Diesel Dean, 18 months.

Finch, who announced she was pregnant back in August, previously spoke on her excitement about baby number three.

“We are so thrilled to be expecting our third — and a sweet baby girl,” the Olympic mom said at the time. “We were so excited! I love my boys, and I just didn’t feel like I was finished having babies, so this pregnancy is truly another blessing. We’re so grateful for our family as it is, and to think that it will grow even more this winter is amazing.”

Since retiring from softball in 2010, Finch has gone on to co-author a sports book and has appeared on The Real Housewive’s of Orange County as well as The Celebrity Apprentice.
