Demi Lovato Living In A Los Angeles Sober Home

For people who only know Demi Lovato from her X Factor gig, it may be surprising to learn that Lovato is currently living in a sober house in Los Angeles. However, it’s just a continued path for the star to remain sober. Lovato, who was treated for two months in 2011 for bipolar disorder, has had her troubles in the past and just wants to continue a straight and narrow path.

According a source close to the star via a report by PEOPLE, “She’s very smart.” The singer in addition to being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, was also treated for anorexia and cutting, has always been very open about her struggles. Even on the X Factor, Lovato has proved to be an advocate for anti-bullying and creating a sense of identity within the contestants that she mentored.

In an interview with Self magazine in August, the singer opened up about her struggles, particularly on self mutilation:

“There were times I felt so anxious, almost like I was crawling out of my skin, that if I didn’t do something physical to match the way I felt inside, I would explode. I cut myself to take my mind off that. I just didn’t care what happened. I had no fear.”

It’s uncertain whether or not Demi Lovato plans to say at the sober house in Los Angeles for a long time, or if this is a short stint. Either way, it’s nice to see a woman who grew up in the industry take the right path rather than the tragic one often seen at the center of many downfalls.
