Ryan Gosling Buys All The Cookies From One Girl Scout Troop, Hands Them Out To Strangers

Ryan Gosling loves cookies, and if you you happened to be near him on one particularly charitable day he could have shared the love with you too.

Gosling recently made a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he told a tale about a big help to some Girl Scouts. For background, he told the audience about how when he was a child, his father tried to get him to sell “a truckload” of cellophane, the Today show recalled.

“I was taking it to school in my backpack, trying to sell it to the kids at school,” Ryan Gosling explained.

That approach didn’t get very far, E! News noted, but tried to imagine that a kind-hearted stranger would see him and decide to take it all off his hands.

“Like some guy would just come along and be like, ‘I’ll take ’em all,’ which never happened.”

Now that the Gangster Squad star is pretty flush with money himself, he decided to become that kindhearted stranger he never found. He couldn’t find a kind selling cellophane, so Ryan Gosling bought cookies instead — all the Girl Scout cookies one troop was selling.

“I didn’t realize how many boxes I was going to have,” Gosling said. “I had a car full of them, and I didn’t know what to do. I started just throwing them out the window to people on the street. … I was like, ‘This must be what Santa Claus feels like.’ ”

But instead of feeling like Santa Claus, Ryan Gosling’s cookie purchase left him feeling like “a creepy cookie guy.”
