‘The Walking Dead’ Poster Teases Season 3 Showdown [Photo]

A new poster for The Walking Dead leaves no question as to what the second half of the third season will be about.

The poster features Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and a one-eyed Governor (David Morrissey) with the tag “An eye for an eye.” If you’ve been keeping up with the hit zombie series, you’ll know that the Governor actually lost his eye at the hands of katana-wielding Michonne (Danai Gurira), but we’ll put aside semantics for the time being.

AMC’s teaser for the second half of season 3 is as follows:

“With his group in tatters, his sanity in question, and his own son questioning his every move, Rick must somehow pull everyone together to face their greatest challenge — the Governor. In order to survive, he must risk everything, including the group’s very humanity.”

The first half of season 3 ended with a reunion of the Dixon brothers, Merle and Daryl, in the Governor’s zombie deathmatch ring. The Governor publicly questions Merle’s loyalty after finding out that he lied about Michonne being dead. Andrea, who hasn’t seen Merle since Rick left him chained to a roof in Atlanta, looks on stunned.

“Made to Suffer” also saw Rick’s fragile mental state deteriorate even further as he hallucinates the reappearance of Shane (Jon Bernthal), who met his end in season 2, allowing inmate Oscar to get shot by a Woodbury gunman.

The season 3b premiere, “The Suicide King,” will air February 3. You can see the poster for the second half of season 3 below.
