‘LEGO Marvel Super Heroes’ Coming This Fall

Want to smash LEGO stuff with your favorite Marvel superhero? Gamers will be able to do just that when LEGO Marvel Super Heroes hits retail later this year.

Fans of the LEGO series are probably still working their way through Lord of the Rings, the latest cross-console title from the folks at Traveller’s Tales. Although Wii U fans have LEGO City: Undercover to keep them busy in the meantime, the rest of us will have to reach 100 percent completion while we’re waiting for the release date to roll around.

According to the folks at Kotaku, Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, and Wolverine are just a few of the characters players will be able to control over the course of the adventure. Given TT’s penchant for deep rosters and unlockable characters, chances are there will be no shortage of superheroes to choose from.

The official press release describes the game as follows:

“Nick Fury calls upon Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes spanning the Marvel Universe to save Earth from such threats as the vengeance of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds. players will unlock more than 100 characters from across the Marvel Universe, including fan favorites like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Deadpool, Loki, and Galactus!”

The Mary Sue reports that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, and the PlayStation Vita. In other words, you’ll have plenty of platforms available to choose from.

Although the games are clearly intended for kids, lots of adults have been won over by the charm and fun of the LEGO franchise. If the latest game is as accessible and engaging as the previous entries, then it should have no trouble finding an audience.
