4 Women Fatally Shot At Apartment In Tulsa

Four women were fatally shot at an apartment complex just south of Tulsa on Monday. A 4-year-old child was found on the scene unharmed.

It’s unclear how the women, all in their late teens or early 20s, knew each other.

The shooting occurred midday at the Fairmont Terrace Apartments. Police do not know why the women were killed and they are currently searching for a suspect.

Tulsa police spokesman Leland Ashley said:

“Our detectives are beating the bushes and so are our patrol officers and our gang units… We still have a lot of questions that need to be answered at this point…. Our concern is for the small child, possibly having to witness this horrific tragedy.”

The Daily Mail reports that the Fairmont Terrace Apartments are in a rough neighborhood south of Tulsa. The apartment has a 10 pm curfew “for everyone, everyday” and a photo ID is required to be on the property.

Sennie Anderson, a 20-year-old mother who lives at the apartment building, said:

“I’ve been afraid since I moved in this place. I think it’s getting worse.”

Ashley said that police do not have any leads. The officer said that he didn’t want to worry the community but reminded everyone to be safe.

Ashley told the Associated Press:

“Right now, we have no clear-cut suspect we’re looking at at this point. I don’t want to strike fear in the community tonight, but we do have an individual or individuals who murdered four people. Do we know if there was a motive, like a jealous lover? We don’t know that. We can’t say if it was random or if someone knew (the victims).”
