Pizza Hut Super Bowl Ad Is Looking For Its Star

Are you looking for your very own 15 minutes of fame? Then you might want to consider trying out for the new Pizza Hut Super Bowl ad.

The company is looking for someone to star in a new advertisement that’s set to run during the Super Bowl later this year. According to the Detroit Free Press, all you have to do is submit a short video of yourself doing something creative using words that every quarterback shouts.

“Hut! Hut! Hut!”

“For decades, quarterbacks have been calling our name to start every play,” explained Pizza Hut chief marketing officer Kurt Kane. He added that the point of the contest is to help generate social engagement during one of the company’s most lucrative days.

Business First of Louisville explains that Pizza Hut is looking for silly and creative videos that are no longer than 15 seconds in length. In order to qualify for the contest, your submission must have a football theme and have the word “hut” used at least once during the video.

Once you have your idea in place, make sure you creation follows all of the rules and guidelines posted to the official Pizza Hut Facebook page. This is also the place where you will upload your finished product.

Although some believe the Super Bowl ad is nothing more than a way for the company to take advantage of its customers’ egos, Pizza Hut doesn’t see the campaign from their perspective.

“Consumers love to be involved with the expansion of social media. Smartphones and hand-held cameras have made it easier to video yourself. Everyone has become a hip-pocket creative,” Kane explained to USA Today. “The Super Bowl is all about being at the center of attention. Why shouldn’t fans be part of it?”

What do you think of the proposed Pizza Hut Super Bowl ad campaign? Do you think the company is taking advantage of its customers?
