Plane Crash Kills Family Of Five In France

A French-Moroccan family was killed this weekend when a private plane crashed near Grenoble in the south of France.

The BBC reports that all five people onboard, a couple and their three children, were killed in the crash.

The cause of the crash is not known at this time but officials said that the plane crashed shortly after take-off. The weather was clear during takeoff and an investigation is currently underway to find the cause of the crash.

According to the Washington Post, the plane was never able to climb to altitude. The small twin-engine plane hit a hill near a wooded area shortly after take–off.

Bruno Charlot, a local government official, said that no one on the ground was hurt in the crash.

The Global Post reports that the father was flying his wife and three children home to Morocco after their family vacation in the French Alps. Officials have not released the identities of the family or the ages of the children.

There have been several stories about small plane crashes in the news recently. Last week, a group of teenagers were killed after going for a joyride and yesterday three people died when a small plane crashed into a house in Florida.
