‘The Canyons’ Starring Lindsay Lohan Gets A New Teaser [Video]

Director Paul Schrader’s upcoming thriller The Canyons has received another strange and unusual teaser. This time around, the clip envisions the picture as a 1930s comedy.

Much like the teaser which came before it, the clip doesn’t really give moviegoers a sense of what the film is about. Outside of Linday Lohan complaining about dating actors, it’s hard to get a feel for where director Paul Schrader and writer Bret Easton Ellis are headed.

The synopsis at Wikipedia reads as follows:

” ‘The Canyons’ is a contemporary L.A. noir about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally, among a group of young people in their 20s and how one chance meeting connected to the past unravels all of their lives, resulting in deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games and ultimately violence.”

In addition to Lohan, The Canyons also features porn star James Deen and Good Will Hunting director Gus Van Sant as Dr. Campbell.

Ellis, who recently declared Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow “too hot” to be talented, had nothing but kind words to say about Lohan’s performance in the upcoming erotic thriller.

The author wrote on Twitter:

“Shooting THE CANYONS starring James Deen and Lindsay Lohan: July 9-31 in L.A. Could not have dreamed of a better cast. Lindsay nailed it.”

Although The Canyons has two trailers already making the rounds online, it’s currently unknown when the film will find its way into theaters or onto home video.

Lindsay Lohan is likely crossing her fingers that The Canyons fares better than her Lifetime movie Liz & Dick. The actress was reportedly crushed when both critics and fans had nothing but negative things to say about the project on Twitter.

The latest trailer for Paul Schrader’s thriller is below.
