‘Oompa Loompas’ Attack Man In Norwich, UK


Police in Norfolk, UK are seeking information in the attack of a man, carried out by a group of four people dressed as “Oompa Loompas.” The 28-year-old victim had just left a kebab house when he was pushed to the ground by the violent attackers.

The police describe the suspects as three male and one female, outfitted as Oompa Loompas from the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. All of the suspects were dressed alike with green dye in their hair, faces painted orange, and hooped tops. The female was described as wearing a skirt that was split at the side, while the males were wearing Oompa Loompa pants.

According to the Norfolk Police Department website, the assault occurred on December 27, between 3:20 and 3:30 am, on Prince of Wales Road in Norwich, UK.

The Oompa Loompa characters were introduced into popular culture through a series of books and two subsequent movies featuring a young boy who has the opportunity to tour a famous chocolate factory owned by Willy Wonka. The Oompa Loompas were invited by Wonka to work at his chocolate factory. The orange, green-haired little men can be seen in both Willy Wonky and the Chocolate Factory movies and read about in Roald Dahl’s book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory according to Wikipedia.

Although the Oompa Loompas in the Wonka movies have little tolerance for spoiled children and have been known to dispose of them in unique ways, they are not currently wanted by the police. The Oompa Loompas in Norwich are. Police are requesting help in capturing the Oompa Loompas who attacked and injured the man who was just out enjoying a night on the town.
