Could ‘Stranger Things’ Be At 2018 Halloween Horror Nights At Universal Studios? — Possible Hints Dropped

This year’s Halloween Horror Nights may have been one of the best ever with some new houses as well as returning favorites, but there is always room for improvement. It just so happened that the premiere of Season 2 of Stranger Things on Netflix took place near the end of the frightening Universal Studios annual event. Now, there are hints being dropped that the two terrifying fan-favorites could possibly come together, but could the Upside-Down actually become a reality?

Halloween is officially over and the second season of Stranger Things has been out for a couple of weeks now, but some things are just coming to light.

For those of you who are unaware, Halloween Horror Nights starts every year in September and runs through Halloween for those who love to be frightened. Haunted houses and scare zones are themed to iconic movies and TV shows as well as original ideas, but all in the idea of terrorizing guests.

Inside the Magic happened to notice a tweet by the official Twitter account of Universal Orlando, and it was blatantly obvious what they were going for. Well, it was blatantly obvious to anyone who is a huge fan of Stranger Things, but there was actually much more to it.

As you can see, their iconic globe is upside-down and they’re craving some waffles which are both signs of Stranger Things. Almost immediately, Hard Rock Orlando decided to help their friends
out with a dish that looks quite fantastic.

While those waffles look quite good, they weren’t exactly the Eggo waffles that Eleven loves so much in Stranger Things. That’s when Eggo’s own Twitter account decided to step in and help out.

Making matters even better with that tweet is that the video shows the Eggos upside-down, but it wasn’t quite over yet. Universal Orlando finished things off with a quite clever play on words and a smiley-face emoji.

Could this mean that something with Stranger Things will head to Universal Studios parks or Hollywood Horror Nights? That’s all an assumption and it would be fun, but there doesn’t appear to be anything but a mutual respect between Universal and Eggo.

First of all, the tweets were all going back and forth on Oct. 27, 2017, which happens to be the day Season 2 premiered on Netflix.

Secondly, the idea was pretty much shot down entirely by Universal Orlando’s social media guru and brand ambassador Matt Korn. Someone posted the idea of a Stranger Things house at next year’s Halloween Horror Nights and while Korn liked the thought, he squashed it at the same time in the Universal Orlando Annual Passholder Group.

“I’m not going to just delete this (although it violates a big rule), because I know if I did everyone would take that as a “it’s confirmed!!”

???? It was just a Tweet, everybody. Our team keeps up with pop culture and likes to get in on the joke when they can.”

Korn went on to say that it was simply Universal Orlando “nodding to the new season” of the hit show.

This year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando and Universal Hollywood may have been some of the best ever, but can it be improved upon? That possibility is always there and it will be interesting to see what is done in 2018, but there will be those who wish the Stranger Things inclusion was going to become a reality. While it may have just friendly back-and-forth for now, there is still a whole year where things could change.
