‘Shameless’ Star Ethan Cutkosky, AKA Carl Gallagher, In Trouble In Real Life After DUI Arrest
It appears that one of the Shameless kids is following in the footsteps of the troubled character that he plays.
Earlier this week, fans were treated to the Season 8 premiere of Showtime’s hit show, Shameless. As the Inquisitr reported, the Gallaghers were back to their old ways at the start of the season after finding $70,000 worth of meth left by their mother, who died at the end of Season 7. Bad boy Carl Gallagher, played by Ethan Cutkosky, came home from military school only to go back to his old, bad ways as he began selling the meth.
And just like his character on the show, Ethan Cutkosky has found himself in a bit of trouble with the law in real life. TMZ reports that the 18-year-old actor was arrested in Los Angeles after a police officer saw his orange BMW driving erratically and straddling traffic lines. When the star was pulled over, he was given a series of sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed.
The NY Daily News reported that Cutkosky was arrested and booked following the failed sobriety tests. TMZ reported that Cutkosky had admitted to smoking marijuana prior to his arrest, and the police officers also reportedly smelled weed in the vehicle at the time he was pulled over.
After he was arrested, blood was also drawn to check his system for alcohol. Those toxicology tests are currently pending. WGN reports that the star was released from jail on a $5,o00 bail. Representatives for both Cutkosky and Showtime have declined to comment on the situation.
On his Instagram page, Cutcosky has amassed quite the following of over 1 million fans. The 18-year-old’s last post on his page came four days ago. The image showed a photo of Cutkosky and his girlfriend, actress Brielle Barbusca, making faces as he wished her a very happy birthday. As fans caught wind of the arrest, they took to his most recent post to comment on the star’s recent troubles.
