Charlie Hunnam Said What? ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Star Reveals The Impressive Nickname He Would Give Himself

Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam is a man of many talents, and according to the nickname he gave himself, they apparently extend beyond acting. While doing press for King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, an interviewer asked him to combine a unique physical characteristic and add the name of his dad to give himself a nickname, and he wasn’t shy about his answer.

Instinct Magazine reports that Hunnam’s response to the question was, “I’d be 12-inch Billy.”

The reporter responded, “I’ve heard that.”

The actor, who also appeared in the original British Queer as Folk, added that during the filming of King Arthur, he developed a crush on David Beckham, who made a cameo in the movie.

Hunnam said that Beckham showed up on set determined to do a good job and had an outstanding work ethic, working with a dialect and acting coach. By the time he left, the actor had a crush on him because he was “f**king cool.”

He may have a thing for the soccer superstar, but he is in love with his longtime girlfriend, Morgana McNelis. Charlie Hunnam told People Magazine at the Toronto International Film Festival — where his film Papillon made its world premiere — that the little things keep a relationship happy and grand gestures aren’t always needed.

“Before I came away to TIFF I ended up staying until 5 in the morning because I decided I was going to clean the entire house,” revealed Hunnam.

He added that he did all the laundry and grocery shopping, which are chores that the couple usually share. The actor said he thought it would be nice for her to come home to an immaculate house, and he put flowers in the bedroom and kitchen so that she would be happy.

The 37-year-old has kept the love strong for over a decade by “keeping the romance on the reg,” and he says the monogamous relationship requires a lot of work.

Papillon is a remake of the 1973 film of the same name that starred Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman. In this version, Hunnam stars alongside Mr. Robot star Rami Malek, and it is an adaptation of Henri Charriere’s memoir, which tells the story of his imprisonment on the infamous Devil’s Island prison colony and his multiple attempts to escape.
