Kim Kardashian’s BFF To Legally Change His Name From Jonathan Cheban To ‘foodgod’
Jonathan Cheban, Kim Kardashian’s BFF, wants to legally change his name to “foodgod.” Like Sean Combs before him, Cheban, 43, wants to make the change to the name he alleges people already call him. Jonathan Cheban, who is often seen on Keeping Up with the Kardashians as Kim Kardashian’s plus-one and Kanye’s stand-in for events, says that all that’s left to do is sign the paperwork and then he will be foodgod (or will it be Mr. foodgod?). Cheban says his change of name is owed to his love of food, which he conveys nearly every day on his Instagram page, which has been changed from Jonathan Cheban to foodgod.
Since the first season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Cheban has been appearing alongside Kim Kardashian as a sidekick, and even though the two have had ups and downs, he seems to always come back for more. On the series, fans have seen Kim Kardashian treat Cheban like one of her interns, sending him on errands and giving him things to do despite the fact that he seemingly has a job of his own. Many critics have commented that the relationship between Cheban and Kardashian doesn’t seem equal.
Fans saw Kim Kardashian and Cheban get into a squabble after she told him to drop off a urine sample to the doctor’s office because she was busy.
“Are you f**king sick?” Cheban exclaimed. “What do you mean, you want me to walk around with your piss?”
But Cheban says that if it wasn’t for his association with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, he wouldn’t have gotten his new moniker, foodgod. Jonathan Cheban says he wants to shirk the name Jonathan Cheban and also “Kim’s BFF” and simply embrace foodgod. On Instagram, fans can see almost everything Cheban eats, and he says he’s ready to be foodgod full-time.
Foodgod says he is ready to put pen to paper and make it legal, and he says he has Kanye West to thank for giving him the name.
“Everyone calls me foodgod; scream it in the streets and run up to me in restaurants, and I want people calling me foodgod when they write about me — not Jonathan or ‘BFF.'”
It sounds like Jonathan Cheban, aka foodgod, is looking to rebrand himself after spending years in and out of reality shows and reality competitions. Cheban has obviously been on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but he’s also been on television in the U.K. on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebs Go Dating.
The change in name from Jonathan Cheban to foodgod is part of a business plan. Cheban has added the name to his Instagram and Twitter accounts and plans to start selling merchandise using the name foodgod. Cheban has had brushes with the food world, co-owning a restaurant, Burger Bandit, in Lynbrook, New York, with a friend, but he has since sold his share.
Jonathan Cheban says that his friendship with Kim Kardashian creates a lot of jealousy and resentment for others who want to get in between the two.
“We all started at the same place eight or nine years ago and people are envious of us,’ he said. ‘They want to break up our friendship.”
