Harry Styles Drops Confusing, Clothing-Themed Social Media Clues For His ‘Kiwi’ Music Video

Harry Styles is hitting social media to drop some major clues about the latest music video from his self-titled debut solo album. The former One Direction lead singer took to Twitter and Instagram to release a series of social media posts ahead of the release of the long-awaited music video for his song “Kiwi.”

For the past four days in a row, Harry Styles has posted one daily photo captioned with the word “KIWI” multiple times. All of the photos feature children and the captions include what are presumed to be the children’s names: Beau, Darmani, Olvia, Naomi, Olivea, and Grace. The first photo Styles posted features him posing with about 30 young kids in what appears to be an elementary school gym. The 23-year-old singer looks like he is some sort of dapperly-dressed teacher in the group shot.

And at first glance, it is very difficult to reconcile what the photos of the children have to do with the lyrics to the song “Kiwi.” Sample lyrics from Harry Styles’ third solo single include: “She worked her way through a cheap pack of cigarettes/Hard liquor mixed with a bit of intellect” and “I think she said ‘I’m having your baby, it’s none of your business.'” Some fans think the British pop star is hinting about a secret child love child in the song. So the kid-themed photostream, which you can see below, doesn’t really seem like it “goes” with the song’s adult theme.

But according to Teen Vogue, the kids in Harry Styles’ new music video could actually be posing as a mini Harrys. The teen magazine points out that the lucky kids in the classroom shot all appear to be dressed in designer clothing, including Gucci, which is reportedly a favorite designer of Harry Styles. In the group shot, Harry is wearing a custom Alessandro Michele-designed Gucci suit, and upon closer inspection, a child in the center of the middle row also appears to be wearing the exact same suit. The floral-patterned suit, worn by “Beau,” can also be seen in the second photo posted by Styles.

The group shot also features kids wearing other memorable Harry Styles ensembles from past concerts and performances, including the plaid suit Harry wore during his Saturday Night Live musical performance earlier this year.

So while the theme of the music video still doesn’t make complete sense, it’s pretty clear that Harry Styles is representing his signature styles in “Kiwi.”
