‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Leah Messer Reveals Awkward Situation With Daughter Aleeah

Leah Messer is a single mother to three girls, and one can imagine she’s going to talk to them about safe sex when they become older. Right now, they aren’t thinking about intimacy with boys, but Leah is learning that they have plenty of questions. This weekend, her girls were playing around and her daughter Aleeah said the word “coupon” and then quickly asked what a tampon was. Perhaps Leah was caught off guard because she had no idea what to say. Of course, tampons are common uses for a woman who is menstruating, but her daughters may be too young to understand this.

According to a new tweet, Leah Messer is now revealing how she decided to handle this situation. She knows that sex education is important for her daughters if she wants them to avoid the situation she was in at the age of 16. Messer never expected to get pregnant at 16, especially not with Corey Simms who was just a rebound. As she explained it on Teen Mom 2, Leah and Corey had only been together one night in the back of his truck. This resulted in her giving birth to twins nine months later and having to explain the situation to her ex-boyfriend, Robbie.

“Aleeah just called coupons… ‘tampons’. Then she said, what’s a tampon? I can’t today,” Leah revealed on Twitter and when a fan asked her how she answered the question, Messer replied, “I didn’t.”

Of course, the issue of tampons won’t surface until the girls a bit older. In a few years, Messer will have to have the sex talk with her twin girls, as they will start experiencing the wonders of puberty. Perhaps it is odd for her to have this discussion because they are still babies in her world. But it’s clear that she wants a great life for her daughters, and she doesn’t want them to become teenage mothers like she was. Tampons and birth control may be topics that will surface during some awkward conversations with the girls, but based on what she has gone through with Corey, one can imagine this conversation is important to Leah. As for the girls, they are quick and spontaneous, so one can imagine they are going to have a blast talking about this with their mother.
