Melania Trump Is Not ‘Miserable’ As First Lady, Despite All Of Those Awkward Photos

Life isn’t easy for First Lady Melania Trump. Between constantly being in the spotlight as the wife of President Donald Trump to all the speculation about her unhappiness in the White House, the public has been fascinated with Melania ever since her husband took office. But is she really as miserable as she looks on camera?

According to Newsweek, Kate Bennett, a CNN correspondent who follows Melania on a daily basis, revealed that Melania is often misunderstood because of her quiet demeanor. Bennet explained how Melania’s personality is vastly different than her predecessor, Michelle Obama, who was both outgoing and confident. In contrast, Melania is reserved and doesn’t express a lot of emotions. This is sometimes taken as unhappiness, but, it’s just Melania’s personality.

Although Melania and Michelle are a contrast in style, Bennett says that the two women share a similar enthusiasm for their job. Melania’s interest in public duties is most readily seen in her interactions with children. In her recent trip to Europe with Donald, Melania came alive when she visited children’s hospitals and schools. Melania is also devoted to her own son, Barron, whom she is raising in the White House.

While Melania’s happiness or unhappiness is sometimes hard to tell apart, Glamour reports that her recent meeting with Prince Harry in Canada wasn’t as awkward as it looked. The two posed for a weird photo that left many speculating that Harry was uncomfortable during the meeting. In the shot, Melania is smiling faintly with her hands at her side while Harry is seemingly giving a secret hand signal that almost looks like a devil’s horn.

Despite all the speculation surrounding the image, Bennett claims that nothing was amiss. Instead, she says that the cameras caught the two as they were preparing to sit down and that Harry was only unbuttoning his coat. This explains why they both appeared stiff and uncomfortable. Fortunately, the rest of Melania’s trip went smoothly, and she even seemed to have enjoyed herself during her first solo trip out of the country.
