Meghan Markle’s Sister Speaks Out Again About Why She And ‘Princess Pushy’ Have Drifted Apart

Meghan Markle has been in the spotlight for years now, mostly known for her starring role in the legal drama, Suits. However, over the past year, the star has become the subject of constant headlines for her relationship with Prince Harry, previously one of the world’s most eligible bachelors who is also fifth in line for the British throne. Meghan’s new level of media attention has brought forth new details about her family life, and has prompted the star’s own sister to speak out about Markle and their estranged sisterhood.

A few weeks back, Samantha Markle — Meghan’s older half-sister — found her way onto Good Morning Britain, for an interview about her estranged sister, who she has not spoken to in 10 years. The Florida resident also shared most recently about her history with Meghan in another interview, during which Samantha tries to explain why she and Meghan are no longer in contact.

In Samantha Markle’s most recent interview, the older sibling to the actor spoke to the Daily Mail and seemed to speak less harshly about Meghan, in comparison to her previous interview. Samantha spoke about being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and explained that this left her in a wheelchair and unable to support herself financially, much like their father, Tom, who has declared bankruptcy.

The Mirror reminds Samantha Markle made waves when she called Meghan out as a “social climber” during her appearance on the British morning show, while also insisting that “Hollywood has changed” Markle. Samantha also stated that she believes Meghan’s ambition is to become a princess and announced that she is planning to write a book that will have the title The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister. However, Samantha followed this announcement up by indicating that the book would not be a negative portrayal of Meghan Markle, but instead would be “a warm, witty, honoring book.”

Despite Samantha having drifted apart from Meghan, and admitting to questioning the actor about assisting her family financially, the elder Markle says that she does wish she and the now-girlfriend to Prince Harry had a more sisterly relationship.

“We did have a conversation once. I felt she should help my dad when he was having a hard time. But maybe he wouldn’t have wanted her help,” Samantha Markle tells the Daily Mail, adding that she has fond memories of Meghan who was “always laughing,” and who developed a taste “for the finer things” as she matured.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to be the focus of engagement speculation and many royal experts have predicted a 2018 wedding. The question is whether or not Meghan’s estranged family members will be welcome at the wedding.
