‘Westworld’ Season 2 Production Halted: Recurring Actor Has A Serious Injury, 2018 Premiere Date Pushed Back?

Westworld Season 2 spoilers reveal that filming was halted after a male recurring actor suffered a severe injury. According to TMZ, a rep for HBO confirmed that one of the show’s two units of production was shut down after a recent emergency off the set. A set insider stated that the cast member hit his head at home and suffered a serious injury.

HBO hopes to keep their Spring 2018 Season 2 premiere date. However, depending on how long the actor is out for his recovery, it could be pushed back. The other Westworld unit’s filming schedule was not affected and will continue production.

“Due to a medical emergency involving a performer in a recurring role on season 2 of Westworld, filming on one of the two units has been temporarily suspended,” HBO said in a statement.

“The cast member was not on set when this occurred, and out of respect for the performer’s privacy, we have no additional details to share, other than that everyone at Westworld sincerely hopes for a quick recovery.”

HBO’s rep wanted to make it clear that the actor did not get hurt on the set. Out of respect for the actor, they refused to give out his name or any other details. The rep concluded by saying that everyone at Westworld hopes he has a speedy recovery and production resumes as quickly as possible.

Westworld fans have been waiting almost a year for the series to return. The news of an injury setting the production schedule back was upsetting for many viewers. At this time, HBO wanted to make it clear that there is no word how long the actor will be out, but production would resume as soon as he could safely return to work.

Hollywood Life shared that the wording of HBO’s statement teases that the actor is on the mend. The network wished the actor a “speedy recovery,” which could be a hint that he will return to work in the next few weeks.

Several weeks ago, a YouTuber claims he witnessed Jeffrey Wright (Benard) crash his buggy. He suggested via social media that Wright could have sustained injuries from the accident. However, the HBO rep denies the actor’s injury happened on the set.

The TV series is based on the 1973 movie that depicts a futuristic playground in which people can pay to live out their fantasies in a Wild West setting with robots that look exactly like humans.

Which actor do you think suffered a serious injury? Do you think the injury will affect the 2018 premiere date?
