Model Chrissy Teigen Leaves $1000 Tip For Ohio Outback Steakhouse Waitress

Chrissy Teigen, a top model and devoted mom, extended her generosity to an Ohio waitress who said that Teigen left her a $1,000 tip. Last week, Chrissy sat down at Mikayla Scott’s table at Outback Steakhouse. The 21-year-old waitress said she was “nervous” to serve her, according to an interview she gave to the Associated Press.

“She walked in with all her glam… I was so nervous I was going to do something wrong.”

However, to Scott’s surprise, there was nothing she had to worry about as the successful cookbook author took a liking to her. After Chrissy paid the $193.81 bill, she left an additional $1,000 tip for Scott.

Scott said she used the extra money to fix her family’s car and shared the rest of it with her co-workers.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God, praise the Lord.”

The Lip Sync Battle host was accompanied by her one-year-old daughter, Luna, and multiple other people at the restaurant in Centerville, Ohio. The restaurant was about 30 minutes from her husband John Legend’s hometown of Springfield. Legend was reportedly in town to watch his hometown high school football team play.

Teigen is a vocal fan of the chain and got a private lesson in how to make a Bloomin’ Onion earlier this year.

In late March, the Cravings author grabbed the attention of Outback Steakhouse by asking her nearly five million Twitter followers if they knew how to make a Bloomin’ Onion.

“Has anyone attempted to make a bloomin onion at home? Did it work or does outback have special tricks.”

Teigen documented her Outback Steakhouse cooking experience with husband John Legend and Outback chefs on Snapchat. The couple even received personalized black chef coats complete with the restaurant franchise’s logo.

This is not the only instance in which Chrissy Teigen decided to give back to hard working fans. Back in April, the star donated a total of $5,605 to a woman’s crowdfunding page so that she could pay the remainder of her beauty school tuition, according to People magazine.

Alongside her YouCaring donation, Teigen wrote a heartfelt message to the girl and said that she admired her passion to become an esthetician.

“I’ve seen this be your passion for such a long time now. So excited to see you fulfill your dream!”

With her most recent gesture, Chrissy Teigen joins other celebrities who have joined the ranks when it comes to generous tipping, including Taylor Swift and Tom Hanks.

In 2013, Taylor Swift left $500 on a bill at a Philadelphia eatery. Swift went one step further by leaving the head chef two tickets to her show the following night, according to New York Daily News. In New York City, Taylor also doled out $90 to a fan in 2014 when the girl told Swift she was headed to Chipotle.

This past Halloween, Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend had some pretty wild Halloween costumes. Teigen dressed as singer Carmen Miranda and John Legend dressed up as Groucho Marx.
