Kaley Cuoco To Star And Produce ‘The Flight Attendant’: Does This Mean She Is Leaving ‘Big Bang Theory’?

Kaley Cuoco has recently announced that she will produce and star in the thriller, The Flight Attendant. Could the new WBTV limited series mean that she is leaving The Big Bang Theory? What Do we know now?

Following in the footsteps of her her Big Bang co-stars Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and her new production company, yes, Norman Productions, has inked a new pod deal with WBTV. The actress will “develop original television projects” for Warner Brothers.

But could this interfere with The Big Bang Theory? The popular CBS comedy is currently filming and broadcasting Season 11, and rumors are that it will end after Season 12. Could Cuoco wait until after Big Bang is done filming before starting production of The Flight Attendant?

Pop Culture TV suggests that since The Flight Attendant is a limited series, and both shows are under the Warner Brothers umbrella, there should be no filming conflicts between the two.

As the book is not officially released until March 2018, it may make sense to start production of the series right after Big Bang is done filming Season 11. Theoretically, she should be able to seamlessly go from one production, to another, without any sort of conflict.

As of now, Kaley Cuoco has not discussed any sort of conflicts nor a filming schedule. Obviously, Warner Brothers is not going to do something to hurt their hit comedy. Clearly, they have something planned here.

The key to this new announcement is that Kaley Cuoco has the opportunity to test her acting chops in a complex, meaty role. This is the sort of intense story that could show a different side of her talent and propel her into projects outside of comedy.

The Flight Attendant is a thriller based on a book by bestselling author, Chris Bohjalian. It is about a flight attendant (played by Cuoco), who wakes up alongside a dead man, in “the wrong Dubai hotel room.” Her repeated lies and alcohol addiction add up to her wondering if she really did it. And if she didn’t who did? Sounds like those who love Girl On A Train will enjoy this thriller.

Deadline reported that Cuoco is thrilled to be portraying such a complex character. She has already read the book and loved it!

“I read The Flight Attendant and was hooked immediately! Warner Bros. Television is my extended family and I’m so excited to work together and bring this amazing book to life with them.”

Penny fans may grin a bit when they see the name of Kaley’s production company: Yes, Norman Productions. Of course, fans know the joke, her dog’s name is Norman!

After her divorce from ATP pro Ryan Sweeting, she deleted her personal Instagram account that had been filled with photos of the couple in happier times of their three-year marriage.

Then, Kaley switched over to her dog’s Instagram account. Her pooch is named Norman Cook. This is the very Instagram account where Big Bang Theory fans discovered Kaley’s relationship with fellow equestrian Karl Cook–no relation to Norman, at least not now. Kaley recently told People that the couple bonded over their love of dogs and horses and that she is “open” to something like marriage.

Cuoco is an animal advocate and on the Norman Cook Instagram description is a link to Paw Works, a no-kill pet charity in which both Kaley and her mom, Layne, are board members.

Cuoco has not been the only Big Bang star that to plan beyond the popular comedy. Already Jim Parsons has been doing voiceover work for Young Sheldon, and Johnny Galecki has been in the test pilot stage of a new show, Living Biblically.
