Huge Update About Nikki Bella Becoming General Manager Of ‘SmackDown Live’

Last week, the news broke that WWE officials are considering a big change for SmackDown Live. Since the WWE Draft and brand extension, Daniel Bryan has been the General Manager for the brand, but there is a rumor going around that Nikki Bella could be replacing him sooner rather than later. Her in-ring future is still in doubt, but WWE officials still want Nikki on WWE television. The role would be a perfect fit for her.

It was being reported that one of the biggest storylines for the third season of Total Bellas would be Nikki’s quest to become the General Manager of SmackDown Live. However, it’s now being said that storyline will be a part of the new season of Total Divas that is airing its premiere tonight. Since the storyline is coming to the current season, a lot of people are convinced that Nikki Bella is returning to SmackDown Live soon.

The powers that be are most likely working how much of the storyline will happen on Total Divas and then on Total Bellas, but the WWE Universe is a lot more concerned about Daniel Bryan being written off WWE television and Nikki Bella returning to SmackDown Live. During this week’s Raw, Bryan was attacked by Kane and left on a stretcher. On paper, that means Nikki Bella’s return could happen as early as next week.

Nikki Bella’s commitments to Dancing With the Stars are complete now that she has been eliminated from the competition. She’s gained some mainstream exposure thanks to her time on the show, but coming back to SmackDown Live may be the best thing for her wrestling career right now since the GM role is open. The chances of Nikki making her return to WWE programming are unlikely until after WWE Survivor Series. A lot is happening between Raw and SmackDown Live at the moment, so it might be easier for Nikki to wait.

More than likely, Nikki Bella will be a babyface after her return. Eventually, she may make the change back to a heel, especially since she is technically replacing Daniel Bryan. There is a rumor going around that Brie Bella will be making a comeback in early 2018. Nikki Bella doesn’t need to wrestle until that happens, so a regular role on SmackDown Live could be great for her until the time is finally right to get back in the ring.
