‘Dancing With The Stars’ Slammed As ‘Sexist’ After Shocking Double Elimination

Dancing with the Stars hit fans with a shocking double elimination during the October 30 Halloween week episode – and fans are certainly not happy. After seeing both Nikki Bella and Vanessa Lachey sent home, viewers flocked to social media to suggest that the two may have left the competition because they’re both women.

A number of Dancing with the Stars viewers weighed in on the shocking elimination, slamming the ABC dancing show as “sexist” while suggesting that there are a number of male contestants who deserved to leave the series before Vanessa and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Nikki and partner Artem Chigvintsev.

“An extremely sexist show!!!” Twitter user @Mieczyslaw hit back after seeing Lachey and Bella, who were two of the early favorites to win the current season, sent home. “This protection with male artists must end!”

“I’m sorry but the two eliminated teams from #DWTS got screwed,” @kmf409 wrote after seeing the shocking double elimination happen during the broadcast. “I think there are two male stars who should have gone before either.”

“#DWTS really there is no way Terrell and Drew should of stayed over Nikki and Vanessa,” DWTS fan @tylllah92 then added, claiming that seeing Bella and Lachey go during the October 30 episode was “straight BS.”

“PLEASE do not try to come for me and tell me Drew Scott & [Terrell] deserved to stay over Nikki Bella & Vanessa Lachey,” @reneesbellas added of who they think should have been eliminated over the TV host and the WWE diva. “That’s a damn lie. #DWTS.”

“So DWTS is just going to eliminate two of the best female celebrities left while leaving the not so good males… #dwts,” another added amid the “sexist” allegations being bandied around by disgruntled viewers.

Others then claimed on the social media site that DWTS could somehow be “rigged” against Vanessa and Nikki.

“Never believed in the rumours of #DWTS being rigged until this season & I’m not just being petty…,” one Twitter user wrote of the latest elimination, while another said, “Rigged. Nikki Bella was cheated. We know her fan base and scores.”

The fan then accused DWTS of being a “scam” and claimed that after seeing Nikki sent home that it would be their last time tuning in to the competition series.

This marks the second time in as many weeks that some fans have thrown around the “rigged” allegation against the popular dancing show after seeing another shock elimination take hold on Season 25.

Viewers first hit out at the series earlier this month after seeing former Pretty Little Liars actress Sasha Pieterse and her professional partner Gleb Savchenko get eliminated on October 16, despite having a huge fan base from her time on the Freeform series.

Though there’s as yet no real proof to suggest Dancing with the Stars is somehow “rigged” or intentionally “sexist” towards the female celebrities taking to the ballroom, there’s no doubting that DWTS fans are certainly not happy about the latest double elimination.

Dancing with the Stars Season 25 airs on ABC on Monday nights.

What do you think of Nikki Bella and Vanessa Lachey being sent home during DWTS’s shocking October 30 double elimination? Do you think being women could have had anything to do with them leaving the competition this week?
