Kevin Spacey is facing criticism following Anthony Rapp’s accusation that the House of Cards star sexually harassed him when he was 14-years-old. The 58-year-old actor apologized for the incident while denying having any memory out of harassing the Star Trek: Discovery star

The actor, who plays Frank Underwood on House of Cards, has also been criticized for the way he linked his sexuality to the apology to Anthony Rapp, according to the Guardian.

Fans are wondering whether the sexual harassment allegation will affect House of Cards Season 6. Will the Netflix original be canceled? The series has brought huge ratings to Netflix despite Season 5 garnering mixed reviews.

House of Cards Season 6 has not been officially renewed. However, due to the success of the series and the cliffhanger at the finale, most fans assumed the series will return for a sixth season.

Kevin Spacey’s character, Frank Underwood, resigned the presidency following his impeachment hearing and mounting evidence about Zoe Barnes’ death. Claire Underwood is sworn in as president and Frank’s political future is uncertain.

The fifth season ends with Claire ignoring Frank’s call, and it seems like she will not fulfill her promise to pardon him.

Claire also declares “My turn” as the last two words of the season, suggesting that she will become the focal point of the series going forward.

Therefore, some fans have suggested that the series can go on without Kevin Spacey’s character, while others think the series will be canceled without him.

The Academy Award-winning actor’s sexual harassment accusation comes following Harvey Weinstein’s downfall. The Miramax producer has been accused of sexual assault and rape by several women and has since stepped down from his company.

Netflix has yet to respond to the revelation about the star of one of its hit shows. House of Cards is one of Netflix longest running and most successful original series. Along with Orange Is the New Black, the series brought the streaming service critical acclaim and legitimized the company as a producer of original content.
