After 17 Years Of Marriage, Shannon Beador Splits From Husband David
After throwing around the word “divorce” plenty of times over the past few years, Shannon Beador and her husband David have finally decided to separate after 17 years of marriage.
In an interview with People, the 53-year-old mother of three confessed that she and David have already been split for a little over a month. Today, Beador told her Real Housewives of Orange County castmates the news while filming the show’s upcoming reunion for Bravo.
When describing the split, Shannon used the word “heartbroken” to explain how she and her three daughters are feeling. The reality star then goes on to confess that she felt alone throughout her marriage while explaining that you need two parties working together to make a marriage work. Shannon did not feel that David was putting in the work on his end to save their marriage.
“This is not the path that I thought that I would be taking,” she told the magazine.
Following their vow renewal, Shannon claimed that last year the couple hit one of their “highest of highs.” But soon after, the couple hit rock bottom and from that, Shannon said that the couple just could not rebound.
“At the beginning when it starts to crumble, you think, ‘This is just a phase. It’ll get better.’ But it never did.”

Shannon says that watching her and David’s relationship pan out on the show helped her come to the realization that her life choices will have an impact on her three daughters, Sophie, Stella, and Adeline.
“Three years ago I was proud of what I showed them, because I fought for keeping my family together after infidelity,” Beador explained.
But she then confessed that this past season was especially painful for her to watch because she was in denial about her failing marriage. Shannon also admits to displacing her anger onto other people, specifically her RHOC castmates, because her marriage wasn’t going well. Beador felt that the environment with David was unhealthy and she felt that she needed to provide a healthy and less toxic place for her girls.
“They deserve a happy and joyful home, and I am providing that for them now.”

Following the split a month ago, David and Shannon have been working together to make the tough transition easier for their daughters by having weekly family dinners. Beador says that she and David’s main concern is remaining “amicable” for their girls.
According to E! News, Shannon and David have also asked the media for privacy during this difficult time.
