In New Interview, Rosie O’Donnell Worries She May Not Be Able To ‘Live’ Through Donald Trump’s Presidency

In a new interview, Rosie O’Donnell is claiming that she is seriously worried about whether she can live through Donald Trump’s presidency, even after she went to therapy for it.

If you scroll through Rosie’s Twitter feed, it’s easy to see that O’Donnell is incredibly liberal. Not only that, but the former View host also has a deep hatred for the U.S. president. As many will recall, Donald Trump and Rosie have always had a very toxic relationship, oftentimes calling each other names on social media.

According to CNN, the feud originally began in 2006 after Donald Trump didn’t fire Miss USA after drug abuse allegations. The next day on The View, O’Donnell ripped into Trump, criticizing his decision while slamming his marriages and claiming he was bankrupt. Since then, their relationship has swirled into a downward spiral.

For the first time since Trump was elected president, Rosie O’Donnell spoke to W Magazine about our nation’s newest leader. In the candid interview, O’Donnell opens up, saying she honestly doesn’t know if she can “live through” Trump’s presidency. Not only does the outspoken star have doubts as to whether she herself can live through it, she also claims that she doesn’t know whether our country can live through it.

Since this is her first press junket since Trump was elected, the comedian is finally getting her chance to do interviews and give her opinion on the presidency as she promotes her new show, SMILF.

“It has taken me a full year to integrate the reality of him being a president in a way that I don’t come across as either so full of rage that no one can hear my words, or so sad that I can’t articulate the level of pain,” she confessed.

The 55-year-old then goes on to call Trump a “madman” on the verge of nuclear war before saying that she wishes every week will be Trump’s last in the White House. She even compares the moment that she found out Trump had been elected to falling through ice. When it happened, she was in total and utter shock, as if she was sinking in frozen water and unable to see the surface.

Melania and I look forward to being with #PresidentXi & Madame Peng Liyuan in #China in two weeks for what will hopefully be a historic trip! #USA????????

O’Donnell also confesses that the after-effects of the election have caused her to have PTSD, comparing the way that she felt to that of an abused child. To cope with her post-election emotions, Rosie has gone to therapy.

And though she definitely has a big problem with him being in power, she says that her biggest hurdle is trying to cope with Trump’s attacks on her personal character over the past decade.

“It happened to me in a personal manner. Because unbeknownst to me, for reasons I can’t really still figure out, he was allowed with impunity to brutally assault me and my character for a decade,” O’Donnell said.

Do you think that Rosie is being overdramatic, or do you feel sympathy for her?
